Description
The image of a soaring Roseate Spoonbill was taken on a trip to the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge in Florida. The Spoonbill can easily be recognized by their long bill that is flattened into a spoon at the end. They wallow in shallow water with their bill feeling prey. Roseate is a rose or pinkish color, thus the name Roseate Spoonbill.
